Why this guide exists
The Corralejo–Lobos crossing is short, but planning it is not. Two ferry operators publish different timetables, the free visitor permit sells out days ahead in summer, several boat tours circle the island without landing, and prices, review counts and pickup points change through the season. Official pages answer their own slice of that; nobody was putting the whole picture in one place, in the languages most visitors actually search in.
That is the gap this site fills: one comparison of the real options, updated with a visible date, so a visitor can decide in five minutes instead of an evening.
Who edits it
Lobos Ferry Guide is written and maintained by a single independent editor based in Italy. There is no editorial team behind the name and no staff on Fuerteventura. The editor has no commercial relationship with Naviera Nortour, Ferry Isla de Lobos, any tour operator serving the island, or the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, and has never been paid by any of them for coverage or placement.
The site is a side project, not a company. That is why it is deliberately narrow: one island, one crossing, and only the pages needed to plan it well.
How information is checked
- Timetables are taken from the operators' own published schedules and compared side by side. Where two official pages disagree — as they currently do for Ferry Isla de Lobos — the guide says so instead of picking one.
- Permit rules come from the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and the official LobosPass system. Availability claims are checked live: on 9 August 2026 every bookable date in the LobosPass window was opened and recorded, and that check is dated wherever it is cited.
- Prices, durations, group sizes and review counts are read from the live booking listings on the day of verification and are shown as "from" figures, because the booking page for a specific date is always the final word.
- Traveller reviews quoted on the site are real, verified reviews from the booking platform, in the language of the page they appear on. None are written or paraphrased by us.
Every time-sensitive page shows when it was last checked. If a page says "checked July 2026", that is exactly what it means — nothing on this site claims to be a live feed of operator inventory.
Corrections
Timetables change, boats get swapped, prices move. If something on this site is wrong or out of date, write to editor@lobosferryguide.com with the page and the correction. Reports are checked against the source, not just accepted, and confirmed errors are fixed on the page itself with the verification date updated. How the site earns money
Two ways, both disclosed on every page where they apply.
Affiliate links. Some booking buttons lead to GetYourGuide with a partner identifier. If you book through one of them, the platform may pay this site a commission. Your price does not change, the button always says which platform it opens, and the product behind it is chosen for relevance to the page — the standard return ferry on ferry pages, the catamaran on catamaran pages — never because one provider pays more.
Advertising. The site shows Google AdSense advertising. Ads are served without personalisation cookies by default; the details are in the privacy page.
Neither channel influences what the guide recommends. The clearest example: the site tells readers when the free permit is a better choice than the paid processing option, even though the paid option is the one that earns a commission.
What this site does not do
- It does not sell or issue tickets, permits or authorisations.
- It does not see operator inventory. "Check availability" always opens the booking platform.
- It does not collect booking, payment or identity data. See the privacy page.
- It does not accept paid placement, sponsored articles or free trips in exchange for coverage.
