The permit sells out before the boat does

100% FREE — NEVER PAY FOR IT

Only 400 visitors per day set foot on Lobos

Access to the Parque Natural is capped at 400 people per day, in two shifts of 200. The authorization is issued by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura and is completely free — if any website charges you for the permit itself, walk away.

In high season permits run out days in advance. Secure the permit — or a ferry ticket that includes permit processing — before planning anything else.

Everything that can change your booking

The right order

How to do it without ruining your day

  1. Secure the permit. Free from the Cabildo, or bundled with your ferry ticket by both operators.
  2. Book the boat. Standard return fares start around €17/adult and €11 for ages 4–11; under-4s travel free. Permit processing may add €2.
  3. Arrive 20 minutes early. Boats leave from the far end of Corralejo harbour (opposite Bar La Lonja). Bus line 6 stops right there; parking fills by 10:00 in summer.
  4. Come back on time. Miss the last boat and your only way home is an expensive water taxi.

FAQ

Quick answers

Do I need a permit to visit Isla de Lobos?

Yes — free, issued by the Cabildo de Fuerteventura, capped at 400 visitors/day in two shifts of 200. Book it before the ferry, or buy a ticket that includes permit processing.

How long is the crossing?

15–20 minutes from Corralejo harbour across the Bocaina strait.

How much does it cost?

Standard return fares start around €17 per adult and €11 for ages 4–11; under-4s travel free. Optional permit processing is commonly €2 per person.

Do ferries get cancelled because of wind?

Yes — the Bocaina strait is exposed to the NE trade winds and operators cancel in strong conditions. Check the live wind indicator on this page the morning of your trip.

What if permits are sold out?

Try another date or choose a booking option that manages the required authorization. Do not assume that every boat tour permits landing: always check the exact itinerary before paying.
